Today, we’re proud to introduce MADPlug to the reefing community — with the full blessing and support of its original creator — and share how we’ve built upon that early vision with modern, modular advancements for today's coral keepers.

Inspired by Maui’s Reef (2015)
Back in 2015, Maui’s Reef introduced a unique concept: a modular frag plug with a detachable stem. Simple. Elegant. Functional. At the time, it quietly sparked conversations among dedicated reefers, though it was never brought into wide production.
Nearly a decade later, and with the original designer’s acknowledgment, we’ve taken that spark and evolved it into something new — something we believe will redefine the way reefers mount coral.
I think your creations are well thought out. I can appreciate that you iterate until they are exactly how you want them. I no longer have the files but you can re-create them yourself.

From Past Sparks to Present Innovation
Years ago, we quietly worked on a few side projects with a like-minded reefing friend — including a hand-molded ceramic plug with a blank spot for a co-branded label, and a concept to turn rock-like molding into magnetic frag racks.
None of these ideas ever launched, but the creative spark we shared was unforgettable — and it planted the seed for what would become MADPlug™.
